LYME DISEASE HEALTH ADVOCATE

Ugh...  I caught a cold and so I was home resting and watching TV.  But, as usual, there was a good reason.  Tonight on the local San Diego news, there was an interesting piece on NBC 7/39 by Peggy Pico, RN and Health Correspondent.  She highlighted a story on HEALTH ADVOCATES.  Patients can actually hire a health advocate to work with their insurance carriers to recuperate most of their health care expenses.  Wow I wish I had one of those all those years ago.  Turns out the patient she profiled also has CHRONIC LYME DISEASE and required home IVs of antibiotics.  He said that of the $8000 he paid out of pocket, he recuperated the great majority $6,500-$7,000 with the help of a HEALTH ADVOCATE who charges approximately $50 per hour.  Anyway, thought I'd pass that along, and although I went to their site to find a live link to it, no dice as of tonight...
